SCSDB- visit to the school

This morning Alexis, Alex and I went to visit the South Carolina School of the Deaf and Blind. It was very beneficial to us to be able to see the campus and how students and staff interact together. We started the visit with a short history lesson on how the school was founded and the events that have turned it into the school it is today. Getting to see the children in the classroom helped open my eyes in to the ways that the SCSDB is alike and different from other public school systems. After the school tour we sat down with Ann to discuss the annual report. We brought up a few ideas, and have decided to go in another direction. Today in class we are discussing a plan for action- splitting up duties and finding where we each are strongest. We are also creating a timeline in class for the rest of the semester. Next Wednesday, Ann is planning on coming back to Columbia and we are hoping to have a better idea of the stories we want to put inside the report.
